The short version
We want you to know exactly what happens with your information when you use fullnesschurch.org. In short:
- We collect what you choose to send us, like a prayer request, a tour request or your email address, plus basic information about visits to this website.
- We use tools from Google and Meta (Facebook) to count visits and to see which of our ads lead people to contact us. They use cookies to do that, and they stay off unless you accept.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- What you type into our forms goes to our own systems and the service providers listed below. It is not sent to Google or Meta.
- Prayer requests are read by our prayer team and held in confidence.
- You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your information at any time.
Who we are
Fullness Church is a nonprofit religious organization at 730 Canal Drive, Chesapeake, Virginia 23323. This page covers our website at fullnesschurch.org, including the tour request page for Growing Station, a nonprofit education program of Fullness Church.
Our general Privacy Policy also applies. It covers our mobile app, our care pages (care.fullnesschurch.org) and text-message follow-up.
Information you give us
- Prayer requests: your name, email address, your request, and whether you want it kept private to the prayer team.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Plan a visit: your name, mobile number and the Sunday you choose. These forms are on our care pages.
- Growing Station tour requests: a parent or guardian’s name and mobile number, optionally an email address, the program you are interested in, when care is needed, the best time to reach you and any notes you add.
- Anything you send us by email, phone or text.
Giving, event registration and group sign-ups happen on Planning Center’s Church Center pages. What you enter there goes to Planning Center, and its privacy policy applies.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, our website and our hosting providers receive standard technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, screen size, language, the pages you view, the page that sent you here, and the date and time. Your IP address gives a rough location, such as your city.
If you accept analytics and advertising cookies, Google and Meta receive this information too and, if you arrived from one of our ads, an identifier for that ad click and details about the campaign. A few outside services that display content on our pages, such as fonts, maps and video thumbnails, receive your IP address whether or not you accept cookies (see Cookies and tracking tools).
How we use information
- To answer your prayer request, visit request, tour request or other message, and to follow up the way you asked, including by text and email.
- To care for people and keep them safe.
- To send the newsletter you signed up for.
- To understand how the website is used, and which pages and ads lead people to contact us, so we can improve it.
- To keep the website secure and prevent misuse.
- To follow the law.
Cookies and tracking tools
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. The Google and Meta tools below are off until you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Decline, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, they stay off. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie choices” at the bottom of any page. These are the ones that run if you accept:
Google Analytics
Counts visits, shows which pages are viewed and where visitors come from. Google receives your IP address, browser information and the page you viewed.
Google Ads
Measures whether people who clicked one of our ads then contacted us.
Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram)
Measures the results of our ads and visits to our website. Meta receives an identifier for your browser and the fact that you visited our site.
Our own browser storage
Remembers your cookie choice, the page you landed on and the ad or campaign you came from (so we can tell which ads lead people to contact us), and whether you closed a pop-up. These are on whether or not you accept the Google and Meta cookies.
Embedded content
Fonts, maps, videos and the giving and registration pages come from Google, YouTube and Planning Center. They load from those companies’ servers, so they receive your IP address and may set their own cookies.
These tools receive the pages you visit, not the words you type into our forms.
Your choice. Use “Cookie choices” at the bottom of any page to accept or decline. If you decline after accepting, we remove the Google and Meta cookies and stop those tools. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well, and you can use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, Google’s ad settings and Facebook’s “activity from other businesses” setting.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a choice to decline the Google and Meta cookies. We do not respond to the older Do Not Track setting.
Prayer requests
Every prayer request is read by our prayer team and held in confidence. If you check “Keep this request private to the prayer team,” we limit who sees it to the people who pray for and care for you. Requests are stored in Planning Center and in our care system so the right person can follow up with you. Requests that appear to involve a crisis or an urgent need may be reviewed by pastoral staff. We do not send the text of a prayer request to Google or Meta.
Text messages
If you give us your mobile number on one of our forms and agree to be contacted, either by checking a consent box or by submitting a form that tells you we may call or text you, we may send you text messages about your request, such as visit planning, tour scheduling, prayer follow-up and pastoral care. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
Mobile opt-in information, consent and phone numbers collected for text messaging are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
When you sign up for our newsletter, we send a confirmation email first and add you only after you confirm. The newsletter is sent through Mailchimp, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Our emails may include tools that tell us whether a message was opened or a link was clicked.
How long we keep information, and how we protect it
We keep information as long as we need it to serve you, keep church records, continue pastoral care, protect safety and meet legal obligations. Analytics data stays in Google Analytics for the period set in our account, up to 14 months. Browser cookies last as listed above. Tour requests are kept in a private database that only authorized staff can open.
We use reasonable safeguards, such as limiting access to the staff who need it. No website or system can be perfectly secure.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm who you are, and we may keep some information when the law requires it or when it is needed to keep someone safe. You can stop texts by replying STOP, unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, and manage cookies with “Cookie choices” at the bottom of any page.
Children
Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
We will update this page when our practices change, and we will change the date at the top.
